Hello
We are April
«April» - is a try to make life in orphanages less dismal. We suggest that you to join us and try to help children, whose life starts so difficult. If you want to help, but do not know how and where - we have found each other. «April» will continue collecting information about needs of the orphanages and is ready to share the information with you. We offer you to look through the site and choose the help that you can provide or a project which you would like to participate in.
Why April
After the first 3 years of our activity there has appeared a necessity to register it legally, moreover – some of the people willing to help have requested this change. This way in 2007 there was created a Charity Fund «April» and now we have our current account, and our associates can financially participate in our activity. We have started cooperating with the orphanages of the Leningrad Region, further step by step the geography of our interests is expanding.
Orphanage Financing
The financing of the orphanages is made as a rule by the regional educational authorities. So the orphanages live according to the financial opportunities of the regional budget. In other words: their life is different. We have tried to make an average statistic for the major expenses items. However, these figures are quite approximate – there are orphanages with a better financing, and the ones that receive less funds.
